ExtendAIR connects to the available antenna connector built-in to Apple's AirPort Extreme Base Station.

ExtendAIR requires no configuration as the AirPort base station automatically recognizes it when connected and switches existing clients to take advantage of the attached antenna.

ExtendAIR Direct includes a base that is configurable for either desktop or wall-mount configurations. ExtendAIR Direct includes a swivel knuckle mount that allows for great freedom of movement of the antenna for precise positioning of the coverage area.

In typical use, ExtendAIR Direct increases the effective range of AirPort to approximately 500 feet with a 70° beam width of coverage.* Optimal performance will be achieved through positioning of the antenna in line-of-sight of the target clients or coverage area.

Dr. Bott's ExtendAIR Direct is a +6.5 dBi external antenna that provides directional coverage and 2-element diversity.

Campus ExtendAIR Direct is capable for providing targeted network coverage. Situations where ExtendAIR Direct would be useful include, longer open areas like corridors and hallways. ExtendAIR Direct can also focus coverage out a window to outdoor areas such as quads, nearby non-wired outbuildings, and sports fields.

ExtendAIR Direct can also be used with wireless bridging to gap large distances to combine two wired networks or to extend wireless networking significantly beyond the capabilities of a single base station.

Office ExtendAIR Direct can be used in office situations to extend network coverage beyond the constraints of a wired network such as in warehouses or long corridors normally requiring multiple base stations.
